With family at a beach resort or restaurant!
At a beach resort !
How to celebrate? With gratitude to G-d forgetting me to the big day in good health and happiness. And with love to my guy of almost 50 years for keeping a promise to dance to the music (Motown, rock et al) forever.
Throw a party for yourself. Invite the most fun people you can think of!
Invite my dearest friend couples to one of my ‘happy places’ to spend the weekend!
Five years ago, my partner took me to New York, then on to Bermuda for my 80th birthday. We saw several Broadway shows, dined in style and walked all over the city – Washington Square, So-Ho, the village and up and down the river. We took a train north to Long Island to visit friends, then back to the city where we boarded our ship and sailed off, outrunning several weather issues. Fabulous trip!
When I turned 60, I gather my two best friends, one from High School, the other from work, plus added a couple of accidental invitees, and of course my family. With help from my sister, I organized a trip to Cartagena, Colombia. What a great and memorable moment it was! We rented couple of airbnb apartments, big enough to house the "crew" and nailed 2-3 of the "must-see" attractions. Organized a day-to-day activity calendar for each person to register/or abstain. That gave everybody freedom and also companionship if they wanted to join an activity. Up to this day, we all talk about the wonderful time we had…. me included:-)
Paris is my happy place for special birthdays (50 and 65, so far). Waking up in the city of love on a fall morning and drinking champagne at lunch are my favorite birthday pastimes.
Milestone birthdays are celebrated with Milestone vacations or Iconic Concerts!
I will be turning 60 years old in December. Not sure what to expect, but so far, feeling rather excited.
I know, right? I plan to retire at 62, who that is just one more year to reach that goal.
I have been practicing and working as a Social Worker for over 30 years. I am ready
to pass the batton on to the younger generation-and I will do so happily. I am an avid
reader, and have been looking for a book club. I also work out one to two times weekly,
mostly women over 40 attend the classes, we now meet for dinner monthly.
My daughter is on me to go platnum-and I may do so-soon. Short and sassy.
Ladies-there is life over 55-we are living proof.
