Let’s Talk!
By Erica and Karen
Members are telling us they want to meet each other. So, to get us started, we are going to begin hosting monthly calls for anyone who wants to join. We’ll meet and talk about whatever the group wants to talk about–-from what’s going on in the world, to interesting things we are doing. We can decide whether we would like to set topics in advance, or just have an open conversation. It’s up to you.
We also want to talk about other ways you’d like to tap into the Lustre community. A Facebook Lustre Member Group? A Lustre Member Directory available only to other members? Other ideas? Please leave suggestions in the comment section below.
Our first call will be Thursday, November 14 at 5 pm ET. We will circulate a Zoom link to members before then.
We hope you join us.

How about community chats on Lustre website (vs Facebook) to help build connections among members.
It keeps the conversations in one place, and will create a more focused community experience.
Hi – Though I realize it can be challenging, I would love to see more in-person events being offered (vs. virtual) – maybe on a monthly or quarterly basis. I am part of a women’s writers group that brings folks together once a month for an in-person reading event – it is so nourishing to be in a room with others to enjoy a shared experience!
Technical issue—I’d like to see some enhancement of the website. I’d like to be better able to track back, check and signups right on the site without having to jump to email. It would be great to take the site to the next level!
New member here. Looking forward to learning more about Lustre and meeting the members.
Unfortunately, I have a conflict this time, but like the idea of this type of zoom session.
I would greatly welcome a platform for monthly calls. In October, I participated in the presentation on "The Retirement Journey. Three Women Share Their Stories." One of the discussions that stood out to me was when one of the speakers addressed the topic of identity in her experience in preparing to attend a cocktail party and wondering how she would introduce herself as she no longer had a professional title. For those of us who entered the workforce in the late 70s/early 80s and fought for leadership positions in our chosen fields, there has been no training for transition. I applaud the Lustre team for their work to bring these issues to the forefront and am looking forward to participating in the next discussion.
I am a new member and look forward to meeting other members. I am 84 and still working! (I tried retirement at age 68 but it wasn’t for me).
I have a conflict with the first monthly call tomorrow, but love the concept and hope to join in going forward. I’ve often thought during the news with Susan on Thursday mornings that I’d welcome the opportunity to connect with other members. Thank you Erica and Karen. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I am so sorry I had to miss the first meeting. Any chance it was recorded and those of us who missed it can go back and listen to it?
