Absolutely and I have done so many times throughout my life.
Providing it is in my budget, my motto is "if it fits its mine".
I fashioned two outdated opal and diamond dinner rings (much too clunky for my taste) into a gorgeous pendant that I wear everyday. Now I buy clothing with necklines to accentuate the pendant. So fun!
