Linda P. Fried, M.D., M.P.H., served as Dean of Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health from 2008 to 2025, where she transformed public health education and research for the 21st Century to be committed to creating the knowledge to solve the health challenges of the future and is interdisciplinary. Of the many leaders she recruited, 8 became Deans, Vice Provosts and university Presidents.
An epidemiologist and geriatrician, she is globally recognized for science that has defined frailty as a medical syndrome and for creating a novel senior volunteer program, Experience Corps, to enable older adults to support children in public elementary schools succeeding academically while promoting the volunteers’ health. She led the creation of the National Academy of Medicine’s 2022 Global Roadmap for Healthy Longevity, and works globally to implement what she has proposed, a Third Demographic Dividend.
Prior to 2008 Dr. Fried was the Director of Geriatric Medicine and Gerontology at the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions. Dr. Fried is the recipient of numerous awards and honors, including being named by France as a Chevalier de La Legion d’Honneur.
Dr. Kalman received her bachelor’s degree in history and art history from the University of Pennsylvania and medical degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. She performed all her clinical training (internal medicine residency, chief medical residency, clinical cardiology, advanced heart failure) at Mount Sinai, New York. She has also completed a physician leadership course at the Health Management Academy and a health care delivery executive program at the Harvard University School of Business. Dr. Kalman began her professional career as an academic cardiologist, directing clinical and research heart failure programs at Beth Israel Medical Center, Tisch Hospital at New York University, and Mount Sinai Medical Center. In addition to her outstanding clinical skills and dedication to patients, Dr. Kalman was tremendously effective in organizing and galvanizing clinical, research, and administrative programs focused on the needs of complex patients with advanced heart failure.
She came to Northwell Health in 2014 as associate medical director of Long Island Jewish Medical Center and the North Shore LIJ Health System. She then moved to Lenox Hill Hospital as medical director (2015-2018) and was also the health system’s medical director of patient experience (2016-2021). In 2018, Dr. Kalman became executive director of Lenox Hill Hospital and showed exemplary leadership during the pandemic.
In 2021, she was appointed chief medical officer and deputy physician-in-chief at Northwell Health. Dr. Kalman is truly a visionary leader, a champion of excellence, innovator, and a strategic mind. She is a professor of cardiology at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell.
She is a well-recognized, highly respected national health care trailblazer and has helped put Northwell on the national map in many areas, including innovation, AI, patient experience, women’s health, physician wellness, crisis management, and effective change.
Dr. Kalman has received Modern Healthcare Top Women Leaders Award, the Long Island Herald Excellence in Healthcare Award, chaired the American Heart Association's Go Red Campaign, and been recognized by Becker's as a Chief Medical Officer to Know and by Reuters as one of Healthcare's Trailblazing Women.

Myrna Blyth is and an editor and writer. Most recently, she was the Senior Vice President and Editorial Director of AARP Media, overseeing AARP The Magazine, the largest circulation magazine in the world, the AARP Bulletin, website, and book department. Previously she was Editor-in-Chief and Publishing Director of Ladies’ Home Journal for over twenty years. She was also founding Editor-in-Chief and Publishing Director of More Magazine. She is now publishing a Substack: Editor’s Journal by Myrna Blyth.
Ms. Blyth is also an author and has written many articles and short stories for various publications including New York and The New Yorker, as well as two novels. Her novels were both Literary Guild alternate selections. After four decades in business and government, Susman recently transitioned from her role as Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at Pfizer to pursue independent ventures with companies, projects and people aligned with her passions and purpose.
She enjoys helping organizations grow and create value and continues to serve on the boards of UL Solutions (NYSE: ULS) and the Pfizer Foundation. She recently joined the board of FGS Global, a strategic advisory communications consultancy, and (effective May 1), the board of Flutter Entertainment (NYSE: FLUT), an entertainment technology company.
Earlier in her career, Susman served in the Clinton Administration and worked on Capitol Hill. She remains active in supporting candidates and causes that promote innovation and advance civil rights.

Prior to founding Lustre, Erica practiced law for four decades, becoming the first woman partner in the General Counsel’s Office of Price Waterhouse (subsequently PwC). Before retiring, Erica was Deputy General Counsel of PwC, where she was happily involved in some of the high profile financial reporting issues and corporate investigations of the day in the U.S. and globally. Erica serves on the National Board of Friends of the Children, a non-profit providing full-time paid mentors to disadvantaged children from kindergarten through high school. She is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University and the New York University School of Law. She is married, has one lovely daughter, and lives in Manhattan.
Karen also practiced law for four decades, becoming the first woman litigation partner at a global Wall Street law firm. She litigated cases involving international insolvency and all kinds of financial dislocation, and she loved every minute of it. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, and New York University School of Law. She lives in lower Manhattan with her husband, and is the proud mother of twin children who are now twenty-seven.
