Cool London Eateries.

by Erica and Karen

A young British friend, chef and co-owner of the fabulous Greenwich Village restaurant King, shared some of her favorites in London. A few we know, but most we don’t and we fully intend to try them. An insider’s take almost never leads you astray. Reservations are likely a must. A number are in Clerkenwell, a hot new area of London, where you might also make a stop at The Three Kings pub or check out the bar at the new local hotel, Zetter Townhouse.

St. John. A bakery, a winery and a wine company.

Moro. Daughter already tried this one and said it is great! Moroccan for dinner, tapas at the bar and more.

Clarke’s. Farm to table in Kensington.

Rochelle Canteen. Just take a look at this. So cool.

Brat. Open wood fire grill. Basque influences.

Barrafina. There are a few of these Spanish tapas bars around town.

And then there are the good old English standbys, still our favorites. The Wolseley on Picadilly, especially for breakfast! Claridges for the bar. The Ritz for high tea. J. Sheekey for fish. And the iconic River Cafe, fine dining on the River Thames.

Go. Eat. Let us know your favorites!
