Valentine's Day. Eat (and Drink) Red. And Pink. Eight Options.
By Erica and Karen
Happy Valentine’s Day!
Put on your red heart earrings and pink tights, turn up the dance music, and create a pink and red revel for your honey.
Cocktails:
-
Satan’s Circus. Sounds wicked, and interesting.
-
Cosmopolitan. With cranberry juice. In a martini glass. Gorgeous.
Appetizers:
-
Roasted Red Pepper Involtini. Really red.
-
Tuna Tartare with Radish and Avocado. The radish slices look like little flowers.
Mains:
-
Beet Tagliatelle With Walnuts. One of our favorite (warm weather) restaurants is Gigino’s on the Hudson, and our favorite dish is beet pasta. Beautiful, and delicious.
-
Red Ragu Stuffed Peppers. Very red and very hearty.
Desserts
-
Red Velvet Cake. Obviously. And extra points if you make it in a heart shape.
-
Red Velvet Churros. What a brilliant idea.
Wine:
-
Rose. We know it’s a summer wine, in winter. But dancing between courses will warm you up.
-
Pink Champagne. A demi-bouteille with dessert.
