Guilty Pleasures.

By Karen and Erica
We Lustre founders are women in our 70s. When we were MUCH younger, we were occasionally bad. Bad to the bone. That’s all you’re going to hear about our youthful indiscretions! Now, we’re beyond guilty pleasures, right?
No! Of course not! Maybe we have become a little tamer… but not tame. Here are some of the best! (Many if which seem to involve food or drink…)
- Organ concerts in beautiful churches..
- Martinis. Made with gin and three olives and served in a real martini glass. Not very often, because they make us very tiddly. Â
- Shoes with sparkles. No longer stilettos, except Erica sometimes, but plenty of sparkles.Â
- Fast cars. Preferably flamboyant. Especially Erica.
- Movies featuring famous male movie stars when they were just starting out. Like Richard Gere in Days of Heaven, or Brad Pitt in Thelma and Louise. Both movies are excellent for many reasons, but also because just looking at these gents when they were about sixteen is too fun.Â
- Hot Tamales. And Tajin. And Tajin gummy bears. (Bet you didn’t know!)
- Shows about real historical romances. Like Atlantic Crossing.
- Dressing up. For any occasion. And decorating ourselves with shiny things.Â
- Watching airplanes and helicopters take off and land. Especially Karen. She can’t wait to see Concorde’s successor take off and land. And maybe fly in it!
- Having the steak instead of the fish.
Do you have any guilty pleasures?
We want to hear what you have to say.
