Burt Neuborne is the Norman Dorsen Professor Emeritus of Civil Liberties and founding Legal Director of the Brennan Center for Justice at NYU Law School. For over 50 years, he has been one of the nation’s leading civil liberties lawyers, arguing numerous Supreme Court cases and litigating hundreds of constitutional matters, including the Pentagon Papers and landmark flag-burning cases. He has worked alongside Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, anchored the ACLU’s legal program during the Reagan era, and defended Legal Services against unconstitutional attacks. A renowned scholar and teacher, he has authored four books and over 20 law review articles, including the acclaimed two-volume Political and Civil Rights in the United States. Neuborne has also appeared in popular media, notably as Jerry Falwell’s lawyer in The People v. Larry Flynt and as a Court TV commentator during the O.J. Simpson trial.

Professor Neuborne will join us to discuss the Supreme Court and how it may address critical constitutional principles in the months ahead.
