July Fourth. Independence Day. How do we celebrate this year?

This year’s celebration may mark a unique opportunity for independence.

The changes we are making to keep us safe from COVID-19 will surely change how we interact, giving us independence from the old ways of doing things.

The changes we are making as a result of George Floyd’s murder could be big steps toward independence from racism.

If we work at it, there may be much to celebrate.
