5 Last Minute Gifts

By Erica and Karen

If you have just a gift or two left to buy and your search engine fingers are numb, here are five easy suggestions.

Have you tried the Theragun? It’s a portable massage device that can loosen hamstrings and necks and shoulder muscles. It’s like magic. Everyone in the family will stand in line to use it.

Wonderful candles and diffusers always make perfect gifts especially because we don’t often splurge and by them for ourselves. Diptyque, Jo Malone and Nest are favorite brands.

For reasonably priced, wonderful sweaters try La Ligne. Classic stripes are a favorite and the new half zip is absolutely yummy.

Do not rule out Brooks Brothers, especially the no-iron dress shirts. We know people aren’t dressing any more—but a classic shirt and sweater these days can make the young man in your world stand out and make just the right impression. For soft, comfy, a little more casual, try Faherty—a brand we found out about from our kids.

Finally, passing along a book you loved this year or have always adored is always a thoughtful present. A few on our list this year are Great Circle by Maggie Shipstead (fiction) and Facing the Mountain by Daniel James Brown (history by the author who also wrote Boys in the Boat). And if you have a real history buff in your circle, Jill Lapore’s These Truths: A HIstory of the United States or DeGaulle by Julian Jackson may be right up their alley.
