North Fork Wine and Food: Where to Go, What to Buy.
By Erica and Karen
If you’ve never been to the North Fork, you’re in for a real treat. Beautiful vineyards, award winning wines, farm stands with produce not a day old. Water too, Long Island Sound on one side and Peconic Bay on the other. You can do it in a day or a weekend. Of course you can just order the wines online and do your own taste testing at home, but then you’re missing a lot of the fun.
Here are recommendations from us and from a daughter who is a proud North Forker—with a special shout out to North Fork Potato Chips, which make everything even better. As we continue to taste, we will add. Stay tuned.
Wine Favorites—mostly white and rose for the season. None of these vineyards allows tour buses, which is experientially important. Reservations are necessary for tasting and dining.
Bedell Cellars. Our favorite so far. Taste test on the fabulous terrace overlooking the vines. Join the wine club if you are so inclined.

Paumanok Vineyards. Not our favorite tasting room, but this wine is worth a purchase.

McCall. A wondeful tasting room especially if it’s a little drizzly. We know folks who love their reds too.

Rose.
And for food, don’t miss:
Restaurant: The North Fork Inn. (And its Wednesday–Sunday food truck!) Led by a Michelin-starred Chef, John Fraser, this absolutely gorgeous historic property serves up an unforgettable dining experience. Our Mothers’ Day brunch was perfect.
Tacos: Lucharitos. A number of locations. Don’t forget the guacamole.
Ice Cream: Magic Fountain Homemade Ice Cream. Ice cream and a old fashioned neon sign.
Pizza: Grana in Jamesport.
