Potato Chips. The Perfect Ingredient. Six Fine Recipes.
By Erica and Karen
We both love potato chips. Sometimes, surprisingly, we have leftover potato chips at home, after we have served them with carmelized onion dip. We never want to throw them away, and we feel guilty just eating them until the bag is empty. So, in a moment of extreme giddiness, we decided to look up recipes using potato chips.
We found many. Here are six excellent ones, perfect for July 4:
-
Colu Henry's Barbecue Potato-Chip Crusted 'Fried' Chicken. We don’t know how to deep fry anything, so we like the idea of fried chicken that’s not fried.
-
BBQ Turkey Chili. Turkey chili is healthy, right?
-
Potato Chip-Crusted Fish Fillets with Lemon-Garlic Aioli. This sounds divine. Fish fillets and potato chips—a perfect taste marriage.
-
Potato Chip Omelet. If Jose Andres cooks a potato chip omelet, you know it’s a fabulous idea.
-
Potato Chip Crusted Savory Chive Cheesecake Appetizer. This one raised our eyebrows. Savory cheesecake had not been on our radar screen. Now it is. Yay!
-
Chocolate Chunk Kettle Chip Cookies. Cookies with chocolate and salt are a favorite. We hadn't thought about using potato chips—but why not? (No, we’re not going for chocolate covered potato chips.)
