Elizabeth G. Cohn, PhD, NP, RN, is the vice president of research at the Institute of Health System Science and the Inaugural Iris and Saul Katz professor of women’s health research. She is a visionary nurse leader and national and international translational nurse scientist with expertise and recognition in health equity, precision medicine and community-engaged research. Dr. Cohn began her career working at North Shore University Hospital in the emergency department and in critical care units for more than 25 years. Dr. Cohn was named the Obama White House Champion of Change in Precision Medicine, and is an award-winning speaker on health equity, civic engagement and social justice. She has authored many publications including the Principles of Community Engagement (Third Edition), a seminal text that guides community-engaged research for the Centers for Disease Control and National Institutes of Health.
